Ladies and gentlemen

We have a bathroom! Everything that we had wanted to get done in there (for now, short of our planned big bathroom remodel that might come in a few years) is done. We have one more thing that we want to do before we actually declare it 100%, but that was decided on after everything else was in, which is to pull the medicine cabinet and put up a mirror instead. It'll be straddling tile and drywall, so it won't be the super-easy just put it up sort of thing, but shouldn't be too bad. We just need a mirror.

So, the final count for this project:

wallpaper stripped
walls sanded
walls washed
primed
painted (hooray, single-coat coverage!)
glaze (gold) applied
new lighting fixture
new shower curtain rod (a curved rod that matches the light)

We'll also be doing a little bit of touch-up to the paint, and maybe change the faucet some day. But we're close enough to call it.

While we were at it, we also changed the light in the downstairs bathroom. It was a scary yellow light with a very worn fake brass finish. The light bulb itself was yellow, as was the globe. We went with basic and cheap - antique bronze with a white "shade".

Pics will hopefully appear soon. I may start snapping some with the phone while I await my camera.

  1. I hear you. Our new house is 160 years old, and we are also renovating. And by we, I mean everyone in the family except me. Turtleknits.
